Overview

Govern AI according to its scope, autonomy, and enterprise impact

AI governance cannot be one-size-fits-all. A local predictive-AI project and an enterprise-wide agentic system create very different governance demands. We distinguish governance patterns ranging from distributed project governance and delegated domain governance to federated and unified enterprise-wide orchestration.
Together with organizations, we examine who and what must be governed (AI artifacts, data and content, and stakeholders) and how decision rights, controls, and architectural mechanisms should evolve as AI becomes more autonomous and spans more of the enterprise and its ecosystem.

· How should AI governance differ across operating models and levels of AI autonomy?

· Which AI decisions should remain local, and which require enterprise-wide governance?

· How should decision rights and controls evolve as AI becomes more autonomous?

· How can distributed, delegated, federated, and unified governance patterns be combined across the enterprise?
