Career move for Prof. Dr. Christoph Peters, Assistant Professor at the IWI-HSG

Prof. Dr. Christoph Peters has worked at our institute since 2015, first as a Project Manager and Postdoc, then as Assistant Professor of Information Systems. Since October 1, 2024, he has now been Professor for Digital Process Management at the University of the Bundeswehr in Munich. Congratulations from the IWI!

Christoph Peters' research focuses on the design and management of digital and AI-based processes, services and corresponding business models as well as digital and agile transformation. Personal highlights of his work in St.Gallen include:

1st International Conference on Wirtschaftsinformatik 2017 (WI2017) in St.Gallen

Christoph Peters was overall project manager of WI2017, the leading conference for business informatics in German-speaking countries.

2. EU Project ActGo-Gate: 

Christoph Peters was coordinator of the EU-funded ActGo-Gate project with scientific and practical partners from Switzerland, Germany and Poland. In the project, three pilots were used to develop platforms and digital solutions orientated towards the common good, which were evaluated in numerous field tests.

3. Future Organization Reports 2019-2021:

Christoph was the initiator and scientific director of the Future Organization Reports, in which the IWI examined the organization of the future three years in a row (2019-2021), in particular on the core topics of agile transformation and people&process excellence (each based on insights from more than 20 interviews with top decision-makers and around 500 survey participants from managers and employees).

4. Research and Teaching in the Field of „Design and Management of (Agile) Service Innovation and Service Ecosystems“

As a long-standing track chair at the ECIS, WI and AMCIS conferences and elected president of the AIS SIG Services Christoph Peters played a key role in shaping the scientific discourse on the design of digital and AI-based service and work processes of the future. In his internationally recognised teaching format "Agile Service Innovation and Design", he and his student teams designed agile solutions for more than 30 challenges from leading companies and public administrations, including the city and canton of St.Gallen.

Christoph has enriched the IWI-HSG with his collegial, innovative and inspiring manner. His colleagues in St.Gallen would like to thank him for the many years of good collaboration. At the same time, the IWI-HSG team is delighted with the opportunity Christoph has been given at the University of the Bundeswehr Munich and wishes him every satisfaction and success in his new role!
