Our research examines how enterprise architecture (EA) evolves and enables organizations to navigate large-scale digital transformation. Building on longitudinal studies and computational research, we investigate how organizations align local technology decisions with enterprise-wide objectives, and how architectural structures and governance mechanisms co-evolve over time.
More recently, our research explores an expanded role for EA as an integrating and orchestrating function for digital governance. As AI, data, security, compliance, and other governance domains increasingly overlap, we investigate how EA can connect these functions, clarify dependencies and decision rights, and provide shared principles and architectural guardrails, enabling coherent governance without constraining innovation.
