DSR is the dominant research approach at IWI-HSG. In addition to our involvement in the community (editorial contributions to scientific journals and conferences), we contribute to the further development of research methods and techniques, for example, in terms of validity, modularization, or communication excellence.
Architectural thinking aims to support non-architects and individuals outside the IT function in considering holistic, long-term perspectives in their daily decisions. To establish architectural thinking, we employ small interventions, such as labeling applications, domains, or projects. This increases employees' awareness of architectural goals and provides opportunities for involvement in achieving these objectives.
Many organizations struggle to achieve and maintain high data quality in their daily operations. Beyond formal control measures like data governance frameworks with rules, regulations, or regular data quality assessments, we explore lighter interventions in this project. These provide gentle nudges to employees within the organization to invest a bit more effort here and there, ultimately leading to a measurable increase in understanding of data quality and the data quality itself.
