Invitation to Nashville: IWI-Researcher selected for Doctoral Consortium

There was considerable interest in the Doctoral Consortium at ICIS 2025, which will take place in Nashville in December. We are therefore delighted that Alexander Meier, a Ph.D. student at Prof. Dr. Jan Marco Leimeister's chair, has been selected to participate.

The IWI is proud to share that Alexander Meier, a Ph.D. Student at Prof. Dr. Jan Marco Leimeister's chair, has been selected to participate in the ICIS 2025 Doctoral Consortium, one of the most prestigious events for researchers in the field of business informatics worldwide, which will take place in Nashville in December this year.
Competition for participation was intense this year, with over 80 nominees from around the world competing for 40 slots. Each proposal was reviewed by two of the ten Faculty Mentors over an eight-week period, with final decisions made by the Co-Chairs based on the criteria in the Call for Proposals.

What the Doctoral Consortium involves:

An invitation-only program preceding ICIS that pairs doctoral students with senior scholars for focused mentoring and feedback on their dissertation research. Activities include:

  • Mentor-led roundtables on framing contributions and sharpening research questions
  • Small-group proposal discussions and structured peer feedback
  • Sessions on research design, publishing strategies, and the academic job market
  • Networking with an international cohort of faculty mentors and PhD students

Our institute is excited to see Alexander Meier represent the IWI-HSG in Nashville and bring back insights to our insitute.
